Work Begins
Digging out holes to install Push Piers
Getting to the Root of The Problem
The root system of the plants that had been around the perimeter of the home proved to be a challenge. But our team was up to it.
Cutting Into The Footing
During installation the foundation footing must be exposed and cut into to attach each piers bracket. This homes foundation footing extended 2-3 feet.
Cut Out
Sometimes during installation of piers it is necessary to cut a portion of concrete to get access to the foundation footing. In this instance the portion cut was at the homes entry way.
Breaking It Up
After cutting the section of concrete to gain access to the foundation footing. A jackhammer is used to break the cut portion into smaller more manageable pieces.
Bite Size
Once the concrete is broken into smaller pieces the crew can easily remove them.
Dig In
Once the concrete is removed the digging to reach the foundation footing begins.
Bracket Meets Footing
Once the foundation footing is exposed, a portion is cut to attach a steel bracket. This is done at each pier location. The bracket will allow the pier to take advantage of the homes structure, and stabilizes the pier as it advances into the ground.
Preparing To Drive
Preparing the bracket to attach hydraulic to push or dive the pier into the bedrock.
Pressure On
With hydraulics attached the piers are ready to be driven into bedrock.
Piers To Bedrock
Once bracket and hydraulics are placed the steel piers are installed in sections. These sections attach to each other. The piers are driven into the ground until it reaches bedrock.
Cap It
A cap is placed on top of the pier and secured with threaded rods.
Preparing to Lift
Each pier will be connected to the hydraulic system to be re loaded simultaneously. This will distribute the load over the multiple piers.
The Pressure Is On
These hoses will connect the piers to the hydraulic system and distribute the load across the piers.
As One
Once all the piers are connected the structure can be lifted to its original position or at its stabilized location.
Lift Achieved
Once the foundation is stabilized. the hydraulic system is removed.
Patch
The portion of concrete that had to be removed to access the foundation footing is patched.
Backfill
The soil is replaced to totally hide the repair.
