This homeowner, located in Alamo, came to us with concerns about his driveway sinking and being uneven. Through research, they found us and set an appointment with our appointment center.
Our Concrete Division Manager, Sam Phelps, came to evaluate their situation. The driveway had a couple tripping hazards and sinking issues spread out over the whole. PolyLevel® is sometimes mistakenly referred to as slab jacking. This concrete leveling product is a two-part foam engineered to expand immediately upon injection beneath a settled slab. Injection holes are much smaller than those required for mud jacking. In action, PolyLevel® expands to many times its original volume, forcing the sunken concrete back to its original level. Within a matter of minutes, the expanded polymer hardens and reaches 90% or more of its final strength. This makes it possible for the restored surface to regain full functionality right away.
To further service all of your concrete repair needs, Foundation Repair of CA now offers SealantPro and NexusPro. Simple, fast, and economical, SealantPro forms bonds with the concrete at the molecular level to defend your concrete from stains and damage. NexusPro makes fixing concrete cracks easier than ever, and protects your concrete from soil compaction and washout.

Project Overview
A homeowner in Alamo, CA, faced a significant tripping hazard due to a portion of their concrete walkway sinking over time. The uneven surface not only posed safety risks but also impacted the home's curb appeal. To address this issue, Foundation Repair of CA provided a comprehensive solution using PolyLevel injection, trench drain installation, and NexusPro joint sealant.
Challenges
Solution
To resolve these issues, Foundation Repair of CA implemented the following:
PolyLevel Injection
The team began by drilling port holes in a grid pattern across the affected area. Polyurethane foam was injected under the concrete walkway to lift the sinking slab. This innovative method effectively leveled the surface without the need for a full replacement, saving the homeowner both time and cost. After the injection, the port holes were filled to restore the walkway’s appearance.
Trench Drain Installation
To prevent future soil erosion and further sinking, a trench drain system was installed for better water management. A trench was cut into the concrete slab, and the drain channel system, complete with a surface-level grate, was inserted. This system ensures water flows away from the walkway, protecting the stability of the slab.
NexusPro Joint Sealant
Finally, to prevent water infiltration between the concrete slabs, NexusPro joint sealant was applied. The joints were first cleaned, and backer rods were inserted where applicable. NexusPro silicone sealant was then injected, smoothed, and finished with sand, providing long-lasting protection against water damage and helping maintain the structural integrity of the walkway.
Outcome
The PolyLevel process successfully lifted the sinking concrete, restoring a safe and even surface. The installation of the trench drain resolved drainage issues, while the NexusPro joint sealant ensured the long-term stability of the walkway by protecting the joints from further water damage. The homeowner now enjoys a level, safe walkway with improved water management to prevent future issues.
Conclusion
This project highlights Foundation Repair of CA's expertise in providing long-term solutions for concrete leveling and water drainage. By utilizing PolyLevel, trench drains, and NexusPro sealant, the homeowner’s walkway was restored to its original level, eliminating the tripping hazard and safeguarding against future structural issues.
Looking for a concrete leveling contractor? Look no further. This project that we completed for Mr. A in Alamo was awesome. Mr. A was fed up with his driveway; it was sinking and he was finally ready to take action to fix it. He discovered that it was possible to level his driveway without having to replace the concrete. It was possible with an injection of our PolyLevel Polyurethane Foam beneath it.
How did we do it?
We drilled 1/8th inch holes in the driveway at the affected area. We then systematically injected the Polyurethane Foam into each hole, making sure not to lift the slab too much. After lift was achieved, we then filled the holes and cracks with our NexusPro Joint Sealant. Now Mr. A can pull up to his driveway after a long day of work without having to worry about repairing it anymore.
Looking for a concrete leveling contractor? Look no further. Mr. A in Alamo was looking for a company to help him fix the concrete of the patio in his backyard. The issue with the patio was that the concrete walkway had sunk, making it uneven and causing a tripping hazard. Within a few hours, we were able to solve Mr. A's problem.
How did we do it?
We drilled 1/8th inch holes in the patio at the affected area. We then systematically injected the Polyurethane Foam into each hole, making sure not to lift the slab too much. After lift was achieved, we then filled the holes with our NexusPro Joint Sealant. Now Mr. A can enjoy a glass of lemonade in his hammock without worrying about anyone tripping due to a sunken patio.
Wanting to ensure the safety of his pool area, Mr. B called us for a quote to lift and level his sinking concrete pool deck slab.
Within a few hours, our crew had successfully finished the job, bringing Mr. B's pool deck slab back to level and removing the tripping hazards that had previously caused him some anxiety.
Our crew achieved this by injecting PolyLevel Polyurethane Foam through 1/8th inch holes that were drilled in a grid-like pattern. Now Mr. B and his family are ready to enjoy their pool when Summer and the heat arrive.
It's not everyday that you find a home that has a bridge. Beneath the bridge of this home was a ravine that would occasionally have water flowing through it. The homeowner had noticed that the bridge was starting to show signs of settlement; it felt like the bridge would eventually become a safety concern. A soils report was done and the report stated that:
"It is our understanding that the area around garage access bridge foundation was flooded during past rain storms due to the blockage of a storm drain inlet located about 30 feet away from the bridge foundation. The flooding has saturated and to some degree eroded portion of the supporting soil below and around the concrete grade beams causing minor settlement of the bridge, particularly on the north side near the residence structure."
With the approval of the soils engineer, we installed push piers beneath the concrete grade beams to transfer the load of the structure from the surface soil to the bedrock far below.
One of the greatest joys a person can have is to be able to relax in their own home. To have a place that they can call theirs. A place that is more than just four walls and a roof, not just a house, but a place that they can call "home". That is exactly what Mr. James believed he found when he and his wife bought their new home. It had everything they could ever want. Lots of room to grow their family, a large backyard for relaxing and lounging during a summer bbq, and a big dining room and kitchen for family dinners. It wasn't until after they bought the home and moved all their furniture in that they found that the foundation of the home was sinking on one side. Due to the sunken foundation, the windows overlooking their yard weren't closing, the family dining room had an annoying slope to it, and, worst of all, they could feel how unlevel and crooked their master bedroom was when they laid in bed. They desperately needed help to fix this.
Steve Connor came out to Mr. James' home to find the exact problem and provide the best solution to it. To lift and level the foundation, Mr. James needed the push pier system to lift and stabilize the perimeter of the foundation. Steve was able to find exactly how low the foundation had sunk and was able to accurately give a proposal for how many piers would properly fix the foundation. Mr. James was grateful for how informative and helpful Steve proved himself to be and how hard Kimo and his crew worked.
Kimo lead the crew with Antonio and Jameson to prepare the house for the push pier system. Little did they realize the issue that they would come across. Although the master bedroom's foundation was easy to prepare by digging two feet deep to access the bottom of the foundation, Kimo found that most of the home had foundation that was three feet deep, meaning that for most of the holes they had to dig out four feet of dirt and thus doubling the amount of work that needed to be done. Even though this was a set back, and the job required a few more days of work, it was not a problem for the Foundation Repair of CA team. Brian Ogle and Anthony Jr. were both sent out to help the crew dig and the job was even visited by the production manager, Shane Motter, to ensure that the work was being completed in a timely matter.
Despite the discovery that the job involved twice the work, the job was able to be completed in a timely fashion. Thanks to the hard work done by the team, James and his family can now all sleep in an even and level house that they call home.
