It's a dirty job, but we love to do it.
Before Photo: The squares beneath the blue tape are sections that were cut out of the garage slab to install push piers. To get to the bottom of the foundation, a large amount of dirt was temporarily removed.
After Photo: After the push piers achieved the appropriate depth to lift and stabilize the foundation, the dirt was shoveled back into the square holes. Then new concrete was poured to fill the squares.
The purpose of this project was to level the home so the new homeowners could remodel it to their liking. With an uneven foundation, the work they would have put into the remodel would have been negated if the foundation had continued to get worse.
This customer, located in Rescue, came to us with concerns regarding uneven, sloping hard wood floors.
Our Structural Consultant, Tim, came to evaluate their situation. This home had settling issues in the crawl space, caused by soil movement that had weakened the connections of the existing wooden floor support system. By installing our SmartJack Adjustable Steel Post system with cast-in-place concrete footings, we were able to lift and stabilize the floor, giving the homeowner's floor the stability it had when it was originally built.

As you can see in the "Before" photo, the home was experiencing Foundation Settlement, thus the very large crack. Foundation Settlement happens when the soil beneath the home moves, and in the case of this home, the soil beneath it was taking a large portion of the foundation along for the ride (Imagine how a bone in the human body breaks and that is what is happening to any home that experiences Settlement).
88 linear feet of the existing foundation were removed and replaced. Look at the beautiful job our crew did. You never would have known that the foundation was on the brink of falling apart.
