This project had 30 Push Piers installed around the perimeter of the home to stablize it. To do this portions of concrete had to be removed. Once the piers were installed our crew went around and filled the areas with dirt smoothed it, installed rebar, and patched the concrete.
In the Before photo, you can see the exposed steel rebar of the interior foundation wall. Our solution for this type of problem is to remove the exposed rebar, replace it with a new fiberglass rebar that is proven to be stronger, seal the exposed area with a new concrete patch, and then seal the area again with our Carbon Armor Patch for some extra strength. Bonus: You can also see some earthquake retrofit brackets that we installed.
This residence, located in Berkeley, had concerns regarding settling issues seen in the foundation. Through research they found us and set an appointment with our appointment center.
Our Structural Consultant, Daniel, came to evaluate their situation. This home had settling and cracking issues in the foundation and interior walls with downhill settlement over -2 inches on the left and rear sides of the property with some lateral movement in the structure. Solving these issues would include stabilizing and lifting the foundation walls by installing our push pier system vertically into the Earth until it hit bedrock and to add additional steel where needed to support cracks in the foundation.
Before and After our crew replaced this portion of the foundation right before the side panels were reattached.
